Who is Tang Xuan Zang?

Tang xuanzang wrote a poem like 48 sentence book called: EIGHT-SENSE LAW SONG. From it we can learn who we are, how human work, big claim, right? Of course, we need to trust the author before trust his work.

Who is Tang Xuan Zang?

玄奘was born in China 7th century, his parents taught him Daoism, he loved to know how all things worked. His parents died when he was still a young boy, he was brought up by monks, and his teacher taught him Buddism, he studied hard, he had great memories, he wanted to know how things worked in life and how human worked. He traveled in China among other temples and talked with well-know teachers, but no one could answer his questions, one of the questions was ’Were there 6 senses in human or 9?’ Later he met an India traveller told him go to India where was the original Buddism, and go and ask the known it all, the most well respected teacher Jie Xie, whom lived in Na Lantuo/那烂陀  monetary. Xuanzang decided to go despite endless challenges of Chinese laws and the language barriers.

Xuan Zang’s heart was so determined, he wanted to find all the answers to help people to realise who we really were, he risked his life and traveled in the wild, it was said God was with him, and it said Teacher Jie Xie knew it before he came, welcomed him and taught him himself for 15 months, DA CHENG BAI FA LUN, it had all the human questions and answers.

Xuanzang stayed there for 14 years traveled in Indian to learn all the best teachings. When he thought he learned all and ready to travel back to China, people with knowledge and power, started to complain about Na Lantuo/那烂陀, as these monks did nothing useful, but people asked to provide for them, and challenged them to fight back.

Teacher Jiexie questioned who could fight for the monetary’s right to be provided, Xuanzang wanted to give back, to say thanks to his teacher and offered to help, and he was chosen. It was the most well known debate in India, the consequence was severe, if they lose the fight they could be sent away, or cut their tongue out…

Xuanzang kept winning. The size of the debates and influence kept growing like mushrooms, later king Jieri invited all the knowledgeable and insightful people in India to come and challenge Xuanzang, And thousands of people, people includes other beliefs too, other kings and queens, all Indians, including all five different parts, together all came.

Xuanzang stated, if anyone found anything he said wasn’t true, he would kill himself to say thanks. 18 days long he talked on Qu Nucheng/曲女城, and not even one person could find a fault in Xuan Zang’s theory and wrong use of words, which became the most respected and well-know debate in India.

The world knows India has the deepest human knowledge, until this day people go to India to find spiritual teachers, wanting to know the Self. India people didn’t record their history like China did, if without Xuanzang’s record, then all the India’s history from that period would have been lost.

Xuanzang brought back to China a lot of great Buddha’s wisdom teachings. He started to form a large group of people who were knowledgeable and disciplined could sit and write for hours, he spoke the language of Indian and they put down Chinese.

For 19 years, he spoke and his massive team recorded, day and night, Xuanzang recorded slept only 4 hours each night, to check what he said during the day was translated correctly, word to word. He didn’t change anything from the book he was reading out. After translate books after books, he put all his insight into a poetry, which is the well known  <八识规矩颂>/eight senses song, together 48 sentences, but how human function is written clearly within the poem, people in China who study Buddha treat the book as treasure, using with care and respect and a lot of gratitude. It is a book like a torch for those who are searching for the light.
